Hossein Zangeneh earned his M.A. in Ethnomusicology from the Tehran University of Art. His research examines the intersections of music, gender, and sexuality in Qajar-era Iran, with a focus on how gender and desire were expressed and performed through musical practices.
Taees Gheirati is a PhD candidate in ethnomusicology at UBC, where she passionately explores the music and culture of Eastern Khorasan, Iran. She holds a bachelor's degree in performing Iranian classical music, specializing in santur from the University of Tehran and a master's in ethnomusicology from Tehran University of Art.
Morteza Abedini-Fard holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of Alberta, Canada. He is a setar player and has earned an M.A. in Philosophy of Art from the University of Art in Tehran, as well as an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Alberta. His areas of study and interest include the philosophy of music, the history of Western music, and modernity and its relation to music.
Mohsen Mohammadi is a musicologist affiliated with University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is a specialist in the music of Iran and the Middle/Central/Near East, both as a setar player and a scholar. His research interests encompass the history of music in oral traditions, the classicization of non-Western musical cultures, and the analysis of early recordings. He draws upon diverse primary sources, including manuscripts, oral narratives, and early recordings, to illuminate musical cultures in Persian and Indo-Persian regions. He holds a PhD in Musicology (Utrecht/UCLA), MA in History, and BA in Music, both from the University of Tehran. His publications are available at: https://ucla.academia.edu/Mohammadi
